How Much Does it Cost to Build a New Home in North Carolina

Dear Carl,

I also REALLY love the Field of Dreams (Plan ID Number: GL-983) which
designed by Jean Larson.

We already have a nice piece of property...15 Acres of Land (11 acres of
pasture and 4 acres of woods).

Is there anyway you can give me an estimate on how much it would be to build
this House in Pittsboro, NC.

We don't need a basement. So it would just be the above ground house and
detached garage. We don't need to clear out any land and we already have a
driveway.

Thanks so much....Amy

Hi Amy,

I like this house too. It has an excellent use of square footage.
Using space wisely has wisely become important again.

Square Footage:
Total living area: 2,270 Main Level: 1,275
Upper Level: 995
Bedrooms: 3 Bathrooms: 2.5
Detached 2 car garage: 440
Porch 243
Slab foundation

To determine a rough estimate of the cost to build this attractive “farmhouse” in the Pittsboro NC area, I used the FREE Cost to Build Calculator from Craftsman Book.

Since you do not want a basement, I used Quality Class #6 for all the questions on the calculator.

I also indicated that the house will be built outside a metro area.

Based on your budget, you can upgrade different building categories and areas as you see fit.

I arrived at an estimated total cost to build of $144,512, including a General Contractor’s markup.

Good luck and thanks for writing,
